Preparing for your newborn shoot
Newborn shoots are SO special, your beautiful babies change so fast, capturing those first moments is such a privilege.

Heres some tips for preparing for you session:
-
Stick neutral colours (whites, beiges, creams, greys) for outfits. I have a timeless, minimalist style of photography, simple, classic outfits help with the aesthetic of this. Brightly coloured or patterned clothing can be distracting and pull focus from your baby, they can also make the images look dated in years to come.
-
We have a range of newborn outfits at the studio for you to use as you please, a simple white baby grow is always a classic.
-
New born shoots last around 2-3 hours, and allow plenty of time for settling, feeding, changing and attending to any of your babies needs.
-
We have toys and books at the studio but I would encourage families to bring snacks and something to keep any siblings entertained, the sessions can be long for restless toddlers waiting for their turn in front of the camera.
-
There is no need to bring any addition items to the shoot, however you are welcome to bring any props or toys with you. For example, blankets that have been gifted or made by relatives, sentimental toys or items, or clothing that has a special place in your heart.
-
Newborn shoots are best to take place within the first 2 weeks of babies life, this is best for those sleepy cosy shots, but can be done anywhere under 12 weeks.
-
Newborn shoots can take place at the studio or in your home, if you would like a shoot outside of the studio please make this known before booking.
